The site is located in Roma, Mexico city. The informal street market  has became  a distinctive culture in Mexico city. However, the public market along the street by the site is squeezed into the narrow sitewalk. The lacking of space has became a big issue for the informal market to continue to operate.

At the same time, the city enjoy the reputation of having the best developed and most numerous public market, which is a huge container for diverse activities--venders are peddleing their goods, chatting with neighbors, customers are picking, bargining and talking with friends. Such a vivid scene should be cherished and preserved. The project attempts to bring the vitality of mexico market into the void of a residential building. Inspired by the drawings fo historical Mexico market, arch is adopted as a specific architectural language.
