Through introducing to textile technologies (type, specification, structure, performance potentials, and applications). Technical demonstrations of stitching, seaming, bonding, forming, and molding textiles will introduce the limits and potentials of self-structured pliable objects as well as composite objects that integrate spacer–meshes and fine–gauge knit textiles with a range of material additives.
Meanwhile, by manipulating the two-dimensional patterns, the flatten surface is given spacial possibilities. The two-dimensional pattern will produce simple three-dimensional molding jigs in various sizes to test the aesthetic, spatial and performative characteristics of molded textiles.
Pliable aims to rethink the material application and assembly potentials of woven, matted, folded, printed, and pressed pliable roll–goods in architecture; and to discover alternative influences that shape current disciplinary sensibilities.
